Intro
Hello and welcome! My name is Matthew Valloney. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me- I sincerely appreciate it. I grew up in a family of six in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. In my free time I enjoy traveling to different cities, swimming at the beach, and camping in New Hampshire. My favorite TV show is The Office. My favorite bands and musicians include Elvis Presley, Jim Croce, and Frank Sinatra. Pizza and chicken with waffles are my favorite foods. Currently, I reside in Newport, Rhode Island with my wife Carol and our cat, Walter.
Technology is quickly changing the occupational landscape, which is why I have built this personal / resumé website - in order to have my information easily available and accessible to anyone who may want to view it.
Work
As with many Americans, work is the most important and time-consuming part of my life. Being part of the team driving toward a common goal, and seeing it though to the success at the end is a great feeling. My motto in my work life is to be "where the rubber meets the road". This means actively persuing the next targeted goal or objective, and taking responsibility to ensure it gets done correctly, and efficiently.
RI-ABL is an exclusive societal organization wholly committed to enhancing community welfare by advocating for infrastructure that distinctly favors practical, dependable transportation over what we consider the burdensome and chaotic presence of bicycles. We champion personal vehicles as the true pillars of liberty, mobility, and economic growth, while actively challenging the spread of bicycle-centric policies that we believe unnecessarily disrupt traffic, compromise safety, and clutter our public spaces. Our mission is to push for urban planning that curbs the excessive promotion of cycling, ensuring our roads remain efficient, accessible, and primarily for motorists. We stand for responsible development that prioritizes the needs and rights of the everyday driver and taxpayer, advocating against the so-called "green" bicycle initiatives that, in our view, do more harm than good to urban life and community health.
